uhh keep on poking your psu with galvanized steel...

I believe those cheapy little smoke bombs that are in fireworks packs work nice. Dry ice evaporates too fast.

    Use a smoke match/pellet/bomb

You can buy them from heating spares merchants (used to check flue integrity)

An easy way to make your own smoke:

    4 parts sugar
6 parts potassium nitrate (Salt Peter)

Heat this mixture over a LOW flame until it melts, stirring well.
Pour it into a future container and, before it solidifies, imbed a
few matches into the mixture to use as fuses.

:eeek: PLEASE NOTE: :eeek: A small amount of this stuff makes ALOT of thick white smoke. Try about a teaspoon outside to see how potent it is.

    Enjoy! :naughty:

My younger brother made some of this stuff awhile back and it certainly did make a ton of smoke, enough so that a small tin lasted a few months. However I kinda remember it leaving a residue, not sure if the smoke will really do much in terms of gumming things up, but it might be something to consider before running it through your box (assuming it has all the parts in it, not just fans.)

Or go to a shop sell miniature train and such, most off them will have have smoke liquids for in the trains.
Just put it is a metal spoon or something like that, and heat it up (soldering iron/lighter will do the trick).

Are you guys sure that none of this smoke will harm his components? I mean, his computer has to be on for him to test out the fans. I personlly would NOT use cigarette smoke, its not thick enough and it just smells damn nasty, not to mention all the tar thats in it.

Or you could use a talcum powder dust (what I use when designing nonstandard cases/case cooling) because it's nonvolatile and can be brushed off anything it sticks to...

how bout a boat flare, the smoke kind. They throw off a huge amount of smoke.
added bonus is you can get coloured ones.

Do post vids once you get that white smoke worked out, i've always been interested in seeing just how efficient the average case cooling is.
