I've got a few things that I want to mount on my front bezel/blanking panels, but how can I cut small holes with my dremel? I have a good selection of bits etc for it, but I'm not sure which to use :p I don't think the turning circle on the normal carbon fibre discs is small enough to be able to do it with them. Will I be reduced to drilling very small holes and sanding the rest of the way? And can someone tell me the best bit for sanding down aluminium quickly?

    Thanks from a n00b :dremel: user ;)

These size holes are gonna be tricky for you. If you have access to a drill, I would recommend it! If not, it's pilot hole and grinding! Perhaps a cone shaped grinder would help give you a more "round" hole?

get one of those hardmetal bits... but be careful.. it might "climb" if the metal is thick enough... especially on alu...

what are you going to drill in? (material, thickness and so on)

If you have a drill, use the 10mm drillbit for the 10 mm hole. If you need´, you could use needle files to turn it into a square.

A good conical bt will do the job. I will dig up details of the supplier I used when I get home.

Cheers, and thanks a lot guys for your tips. Another idea is to use the cutting disks when they get worn down by other cutting, so that they're smaller. Won't last as long though...

/me suggests hole saw if the material is thicker than 0.8mm

Otherwise, trace the 30mm circle then drill holes all the way around and sand down!
