I recently picked up a new nokia 6600 and today i have had it a week. Yesterday i went to a freidns house to pick him up and when we got into my car i couldnt find my phone. I got him to ring it and we heard the phone in the near by area. We had to get off quickly but i thought it must be in the car as we can hear it, so we went off. When we got to where we were going i thought to have a good look around the car to no avail. I couldnt ring the phone again as there was no signal where we were so i sat there puzzled. On the way up my friends house i went over a bump, and i just thought it was a drain. or a rock. He goes 'what the hell was that?' and runs down the hill once we parked. He picked up my phone Somehow i dropped my phone out of my car and susequentially ran it over 3 hours after i dropped it. The chances of it being in the right possition when i came back for me to run it over, or it even being there at all are astronimical! It was obvious that it had been run over more than once, but the amazing thing is that it stiull powers on! The screen is knackered but i can key in my pin code and hear the acceptance noise. Quite amazing the phone isnt destroyed. I thought it would have smashed completely, but its mainly intact. Getting a replacement on monday at least, will show pics later Sorry, sunno why this is in modding
LOL its actually hard to believe it was still where you dropped it earlier and hadnt been stolen. Pretty good it all powers on and all. At least now you have some spare parts around (or something to destroy even further)
Its a nokia...they are invincible. I had a 3360 and it must have gone through the washing machine 5times,and also encountered many...MANY drops. Also I had a 6800 and it flew out of my pocket when I was going along the freeway at 120km/h on my dads harley and it still worked fine, the only thing broken was the screen. I took it back and got an n-gage .
lol, reminds me a bit of my old phone. It's a nokia 252nc (really bloody old). Damn things indistructable. Not only has it been thrown at a brick wall, but it has been run over a few times, sat out in the cold for about a week in -30c weather, actualy thrown through a pane of glass, and to add insult to injury, it was pissed upon by a dog. Damn thing still works as if it was new. Battery is junk, and it doesn't last 4 hours unpluged, but it still works. Go figure
about the same thing as with an old 5110 of ours, it has been swimming in the sea, falling atleast a thousand times from above two metres height it has been literally been in a climate where it can sustain a huge amount of damage in mere seconds and it still works, the screen only is kind of broken, so you have to press it so that you can see the text. otherwise, it is fine.
i 'dropped' my 3310, and it smashed so that the biggest part was the sim card Of course, by dropped, i mean threw as hard as i could at the ground while drunk!
Some are indistructable, others not so. My friend dropped on of the metal shelled ones (can't remember the number I think it was an 8 series) onto a road, kicked it trying to pick it up (he was very drunk), and that killed it. I thought the metal case would have protected it a bit more.
lol wroops. Yeh. Nokia phones do take some wacking around to die. Bad luck man. "was"a nice phone. Hmmm you should be able to get replacement maybe.
I have a Nokia 5110 that has seen some pretty bad times and still works. I dropped it from a warehouse roof and it fell about 40 feet onto concrete. The battery went one way, the phone the other..... reunited the pair and it worked fine. It once flew out the window of my car on a roundabout.... sort of shot across the dash, and out through the open window onto the road. Still worked fine. The worst was when I dropped it down a sewer access hole Fell about 12 feet into a blocked sewer, containing what you would expect to be there. I got it out, and it looked horrible. Off with the battery straight away, and then washed it under the hot tap with soap for about 10 mins. Left the phone and battery on the dashboard heater vent while I drove home for about 2 hours. Re-assembled at home, and the poor little phone was still working. Still works to this very day Rock-on Nokia. Darkside. Wonder if my 7650 would stand up to that ?? Prolly not.
well i have had a few nokisa from the 5110 to the 3310 (i went to SE t68i after i had killed 3 3310's) the only phone from the nokias that are still alive is the 5110. the 3 3310s died in very painfull deaths 1, dropped in a glass of water while on (alarm went off so half asleep i turned the alarm off and put it on my bedside table ended upto be a glass of water ) compleatly shorted out 2, went under a car( was in bad mood was talkin to my g/f at the time and the battery cut. so it got thrown under it.) 3, it just died. i cant remember how.
the ones that really kick ass are all thier phones with a Xpress on shell or Xpress on cover, these allow for a cusion of air between the phone and the....concrete. And they are expandable, at only about $15
i had a 5150 that went through hell and back with me. i had to tape the battery on because the little clips on the bottom that held it in got busted. the screen was missing the clear plastic over it. scratches and gouges all over it. even made it through about a 6 foot fall onto asphalt, with my drunk friend talking on it.
well you guys are all pretty lucky for these little "miracles" me on the other hand bought a brand new samsun VGA-1000 Picture Phone, and about 1 month later its gone out of my team/individual sports locker 2nd period stolen...
reminds me of my bro! he put his digital camera up on the top of his car, we went driving and we saw it fly off his car at 100mph! it was so cool it rolled off, hit the pavement blew apart and kept bouncing down the rode, it was soo sweet!
if you really want to destroy a phone, leave your mobile in the pocket of your pants and then put them in the washing machine by accident that how my 3310 got 0wned only thing good was the cover, and the SIM card but now i hacked it in half and salvaged all the good stuff, like leds and the screen and stuff hehe. also got a 3315 and now i can draw pictures
