i have 3 drives in my system

    1. 40 gb which has os on it

    2. 200 gb which the bios has to be told to boot from otherwise system
does'nt boot even though the os is on the 40GB

    3. 80 gb which was split into 2 partations one of which has disappeared and
is now only reading as a 31.4 GB because it has a bad MBR according to
    partation magic 8

so my question is how do i fix the MBR without effecting any of the other drives ?

Can't you set it as master (in another computer if you're worried) and do a fixMBR then?
