As the title says, my hp netserver e50 (I know its an old machine, but it does the job well) has just started losing its bios settings. I have tried a new battery, does anyone know any thing else that I should be trying, to get it to work. I just noticed it when I restarted it last night, but its used as a firewall, so it could have happened, as it doesnt get restarted very often. Does anyone have any ideas, as it is really bothering me. Is it likely to get any worse. EDIT: Iv just spent a bit of time on it, and if I remove the battery altogether,, power on the computer, enter the cmos settings, restart it, it is happy, so is that saying that its not my cmos at fault. Its also still reading the correct date, and nearly the correct time. Got me confused any how.
