If I send a document to my HPOfficeJet Pro K550, and tell it to print 5 copies, there is a good chance I will have 5 different margins. (the delta between the extremes being nearly an inch)

I've experienced the same frustrating inconsistencies when printing from official HP drivers on Windows and using geutenprint drivers on CUPS in linux. I've also printed directly from publisher, then printed from a PDF.

It looks like a problem with how the printer is picking up the paper, but shouldn't it be checking where the page starts anyway? I'd imagine it would be simple for it to detect when the paper starts and know where to print... is there some sort of sensor I should clean?

(I've googled the problem, but there are roughly 165,000 google results that appear to have nothing to do with my problem.)

    Any tips would be appreciated...
