What a clickbaity title. HP recalled laptop batteries that were sold over a span of two years, but they certainly didn't recall "two years' worth of batteries".

The four ProBook and the Envy models have user-replaceable batteries.

Most of the others have replaceable batteries - they aren't glued in à la Mac, they're just fastened with a couple of screws and sometimes a plug.

My intention is never to clickbait: it's merely a shortened version of "HP recalls two years' worth of batteries for selected laptops," which was too long. Apologies if the brevity has resulted in confusion!

I've actually got a query in with HP to find out exactly how many batteries are affected (either as an absolute number or a percentage of batteries sold over that period), but haven't heard back.
