    Hi

Got an HTC sensation, gorgeous phone, but it doesn't want to connect to my home wifi.

I've manually entered the Wifi's settings (I'm with Be Broadband) and using WPA-PSK Encryption, the wifi is detected by both the phone and the device is visible to the router. The router assigns an IP address, but the internet doesn't actually appear to work.

Anyone have any advice on how I can sort this?

    Thanks in advance chaps

Did you do a software update? If so factory reset.

    Figured it out

Apparently there's a problem with Android 2.2 and my router (SpeedTouch 780)

I setup a static IP address in my router and on the phone's settings, entering Subnet, DNS, all that jazz.

    Works fine now.

Thanks for having a read dancingbear!

Cool, glad you're sorted. Shouldn't the sensation have 2.3 Now though?

Okay, assuming that you have the same problem as i did (well, my wife's phone did, but she asked me to sort it), which was the phone was detecting the network and the network was detecting the phone, but no data was apparently being transferred what i had to do was -

i had to set it up as a static device and then get my router to treat it as such
you need to go into your router's settings and find the device and set it as a static IP device
do the same in your phone's advanced settings
on your pc (assuming windows 7) go start, type 'cmd', hit enter
    type "ipconfig /all" hit enter
get all the details that your phone is asking for in the advanced wifi settings
after that i could connect to my home wifi
