    Has anyone used win XP media center addition?

    I want to run a HTPC so i was thinking of either using media center or 2000Pro with an HTPC software.

    No im not buying a prebuilt system but i can get hold of either OS.

    media center is good if you get the service update, I have a M$ developer kit, all OS'es, and i dont want to support them any more than neccesary. theres a guide on the net about building a HTPC from linux, and theres an HTPC version of knoppix.

    Yeah got All Os's disk 1 off a friend so I'm just burning random OS's to Cds at the moment.

    Will try the media center once i get my htpc built

    myHTPC seems pretty good and easy to use, plus you can boot up into it rather than going straight into windows *i think*. also it's free. it also seems quite popular. Clicky

    My vote goes with myhtpc, it works well in my 2 pvr and htpc pcs.

    I had a play with it last weekend, the problem that i didnt like about it, there is no inbuilt dvd player and you have to pay for the one that they surgest.

    I might have a go with the windows media center OS otherwise im just gonna run 2000Pro and myHTPC
