What is the difference between the two and which one is better ?

I have about three laptops and one desktop (maybe one more soon) right now and I want to setup a home network where all the computers can access my DSL connection.

Also anyone have any to sell :D Cheap ... really cheap ?

Yep - It's what I used until I upgraded my net to 100BaseT to share my net connection to two desktops and a laptop.

No word from ChenZhen at the mo. I'll prod him and if he doesn't want it, it's yours.

It's in the for sale forum :

How many systems are going to be on the network at the same time? How many are going to be active at the same time, doing what? Thats what you need to keep in mind when using a hub. One system speaks, the hub repeats that traffic to every system plugged into it. If other systems are trying to speak at the same time, you get collisions and massive slow down. Just something to consider.

Is one of your systems going to act as a gateway for the network? One will need to if you aren't going to have a router.

A routed switch can act as gateway and provide no collision traffic for the network. Not trying to steal GOO's deal, just making some points for you to think about.
