well todays little modding started with me geting into the back of the tv cabnet to take some measurements for the psu and cables etc...

only held in by a few simplescrews
    [IMG]

    found centre
    [IMG]

and then drew out the psu shape
    [IMG]

and along the way i had a hand from my son, modder in the making =D
    [IMG]

but thats enough of that for now, as there was more too worry about then that panel.

now it wouldnt be a mod from me without a floor, but this time i opted not to use black, white or mirror tint. But decided to keep the brushed / frosted look and work it into the floor.

i know your probley wondering, WHY?, i suppose its just a little something bling for the log, or its just due to the fact i do it with all the case's i mod.

1st off was to trace around the edge of the mobo and psu too give me the needed room too measure.
the acrylic for the job, 5mm clear.
    and then onto the measurements
    [IMG]
    top plate cut and fitted
    [IMG]
    perfect fit
    [IMG]

now youll see what i have planned for this much later =]

i then decided to leave that for now as the side / top panel had caught my attenton.

needing air flow into the case badly, and not much room for it due to the rom and hdd's i opted for a inlet fan just above the graphics card.
And the fan used was the top 80mm fan from a stacker ~

    some more measuring
    [IMG]
straight off the jigwas, leaving around 2mm too be filed back, and edges straightend with my trusty ol panel hammer.

ill be flush mounting some bolts for the fan and then leveling it out so its not protruding out the top of the case.

next on the list of to do things was start on the front panel

insteed of going for straight black this time i opted for a darkish black / grey tint that matches that of the phillips dvd player.
The plan is to give it across a semi transparent look but at the same time the rear of the acrylic will be painted matt black, which youll probly see in the next day or two.
    onto the cutting
    [IMG]
and after a little file work i slotted it in for a quick test fit
    [IMG]
now im still yet to glue it together and cut the 45 degree angles on the top and bottom angles, but just notehr quick idea fit
    [IMG]

then was onto the measuring and cutting for the drive bezzel
    [IMG]
and a nice cut and file done the job a treat
    [IMG]

then a quick test to make sure that it not only looked the part but was goign to be able too sere its purpose
    [IMG]

well thats all for me for today feel free too comment, and if the pictures are taking a little while too load im sorry abotu that as my account died so i had too find some tem hosting on my site.
photobucket should be back up in the next few days

take that screwdriver out of your kids hand lol. If he gets wrapped up in modding he'll be doomed to never be satisfied with anything. Hahaha. Nice work so far

Where does everyone here buy their black/smoke arcylic/polycarbonate/lexan from? I've been looking for sources, as I want to put a new door on my CD cabinet with this stuff.

Me either. But while I'm posting I can't recommend this HTPC front-end program highly enough: http://www.gbpvr.com
