    Hi all,

I've recently completed a mini itx build, specs below and have some concerns about a reading from HW monitor regarding the TMPIN0 temp, whatever that is. It's currently reading 115 degrees C whereas rge rest of the system (SSD, HDD, CPU, GPU etc) are between 30-40 respectively.

I put my hand in the front of the case area and it doesn't feel hot or even warn, the same goes for the case chasis. Could this be a false reading?

    Many thanks for your help!

    Jhen

    -------------------

    System spec:

Case - Corsair 250D - fan set up none
    Mobo - Asus Z97I Plus
    CPU - i5 4690k
    GPU - Gigabyte 970 ITX
    Cooling - Corsair H100i
    SSD - Crucial MX100 512GB
    HDD - Seagate 2TB
    Ram - Corsair Vengeance 8gb x 1
    PSU - Corsair 650W

Cooling set up - the front fan for the case has been removed to accommodate the H100i (which has both fans as intake), the gpu I'm not sure if its intake or outake to be honest, it's exposed circuit board faces inside the case with the fan unit against the mesh side panel.

There are no fans at the rear of the case either.

It sounds like HW monitor is trying to read a sensor that doesn't exist, try using the ASUS AI Suite instead.

Ask in the HWiNFO Forum. The developer is extremely helpful.

TMPIN0 is usually a CPU sensor that is used on AMD systems and is regarded as being more accurate than the actual core temperature probes (they're ****).

Use CoreTemp for your system and you'll quickly find out that it is nothing to worry about at all. :)

If CoreTemp reports that your CPU is at 115c, then you've got a problem.

Why haven't you got the H100i in the side of the case, acting as an exhaust? That would make more sense...

It does go wrong from time to time. I once had it telling me that my CPU was using over 4 million watts

I agree with using CoreTemp. That's how I monitor my CPU temps.

You might also check out Speccy (from the makers of CCleaner).

Assuming this is your graphics card, it does not have an enclosed housing so some of the heated air will go back into the case interior. But (based on the fan blade pitch) assuming the fan spins counter-clockwise and in looking at the heat sink fins, much of the heated air will be pushed out the back which you should be able to tell by feeling for air movement with your hand.

    Hi All,

Thanks for all your replies, turns out it was just an erroneous read from the software :)

I've got the H100i as an intake as it was advised by the set up manual, seems kinda counter intuitive to me but I thought I'd just follow the instructions haha.

The temps seem ok but I haven't managed to test it out properly yet with Prime or by running demanded games on it.
