So, a while ago I bought Dirt 2 from Steam. Played it once and was annoyed at the long and unskippable intro, and consigned it to the "will come back to this later" pile. A short while later I removed and reinstalled GFWL and today I fancied giving Dirt 2 a second chance, but it will not play. It finishes the intro and takes me to the first "RACE" screen (Battersea Park), but as soon as I hit Enter it freezes. No error message, just a locked screen with stuttering sound. I've googled extensively and it seems to be GFWL related, however I can't get the bloody thing to run. What makes matters worse is that it makes me sit through the pointless 5 minute introduction every time I try and get going! This is the only game I can't run, which makes things even more annoying... Running Win7 64, all drivers, BIOS etc up to date. No AV running aside from Windows Firewall. Any help greatly appreciated! Cleggy.
Yeah, I uninstalled and reinstalled it from Microsoft so I assume I have the latest version? I can't find a way of checking mine is up to date though, any thoughts welcome.
Still unable to run the game, and checking out the forums indicates that many people are having similar issues. Will try reinstalling it and GFWL one more time before trying for a refund. On that note, how do you get a refund from Steam?
