I'm out and about getting the final small bits I need for H20-C7 and I'm wearing my designer handmade one off official modder's T-Shirt. Hot in Denver today. I get the bolts and nuts and silicon stuff and drop into my favorite beverage store to fill my tiny refrigerator. One of the LAN party dudes is behind the counter and we strike up the usual PC conversation. I get the motherboard for H20-C7 out of the messenger bag and set it on the counter. More discussions. Getting thirsty here! Dude challenges me with "You would Mod Anything!" It's what I do. Here is his challenge to me - I bet you can't mod a beer can! I'll buy you a case of beer if you can mod a beer can. Only rule was no kegs or mini-kegs like Heineken. Just a single serving beer can. Here is my challenge to you guys. Same rules, no kegs, no mini-kegs just beer can. It doesn't have to be a beer if you don't drink, any single serving beverage can(although the Heineken mini-keg is a single serving, it's out). What can you do? Humour. Pun intentional. My volunteer/victim. Do you have it in you to compete? No prizes, this one is for fun only. If anyone accepts the challenge, I'll set up a poll or something we can vote. john
From what I've read on this forum EVERYBODY has better beer than the US. Didn't we have a beer thread in General once upon a time? I remember because our beers came up pretty lame. john
You have to mod it to contain an entire pc or can we just make a res out of it? Because I dont know of any components that small
That's because you guys are rationed to the 330ml cans, whereas we get 500ml cans.. Y'see we have these things called pints, and we can drink a lot of them Oh yeah, you also have lite beer. *walks away snickering*
This is Bit-Tech! We have no rules that I know of except full nudity and bad words. Res is good, speakers(get 2 cans), Gumstix Linux PC would rattle around in ANY can. Linux in an Altoids. Think outside the box! Get creative. This is my challenge to the forum - come beat the old timer! Doesn't have to be functional. The sketchup challenge was just for ideas too. john
One thing to keep in mind is that modding is not an exact science. It's possible to make mistakes and have to acquire another donor can or 3 or 6. Selfless work this modding! john
Modding alluminium cans into these things is one of the things i'd like to do. So much to mod, so little time
I did a wearable Gumstix once. In for a penny, in for a pound. I have a LOT of Dew cans. I'll cook up something.
I have no idea what you can put in the can, but I'm willing to contribute by emptying the contents before the modding starts!
So, the volunteers are all assembled. " Rabbi Schultz saves all the foreskins from his circumcisions for 20 years and takes them to Hymie the shoemaker. Hymie says come back in a week. The Rabbi comes back in a week and Hymie presents him with a very nice hand tooled billfold. The Rabbi is furious - "What! From all those foreskins only a billfold I get?" Hymie says "rub it and it turns into a two suiter carry on" " john
