...does that makes me weird/stupid/dumb/ugly? I mean, everytime I go to a party, I don't "enjoy" it, and it sure as hell doesn't give me relaxation or satisfaction. I'd rather program some very complex and weird lines of code, and then when I press "compile", seeing it works, than going to a party, even if it's free...
The only thing that can satisfy me is some alchohol, but I don't like that either as I get drunk way too fast...

Am I the only one that has that? And it's a real problem too, without a social life (like me), I can't get a gf! :grr:

Normal parties - Nah, everyone will just think you're anti-social

LAN parties - Yes, you are completely screwed up, I suggest getting committed ASAP

    No no no, relix.

Parties are very individual. Some people love em and others dont. I wouldn't worry about it. I dont really like house parties, truth me told - they can be awkward and boring. Clubs are more my thing - or a night in playing CS ;)

I'm not real huge on the party thing either, large ones especially. Crowds just kinda bugger me a lot.

    That's a good example :)
Sometimes I feel the same way... especially when there's ppl I don't know...

But the fact that u r anti-soc... ehmm I mean u don't like parties doesn't make u weird... wearing big glasses with white tape in the middle makes u weird... or sitting on a fire-cracker saying " I wanna feel teh pawah!!"

    :p

Yep, I'm not a big fan of parties either. I just end up finding a seat and staring at the crowd in an akward manner.

Drinking makes it slightly better, although it takes me forever to get drunk, and I absoloutely hate the taste of alcohol.

I did the regular house party thing while at Uni - some were good and others were (as you said) uncomfortable and a waste of time.

These days I tend to spend the time with a few mates (perhaps 6-8 of us, close friends) at someone's house talking, having a few drinks and perhaps playing PlayStation or watching a movie. It's more of a 'quiet drink' than a full on party, and I find it a lot more fun, because there's no one you have to impress etc, you can just be yourself.

    Just my $0.02

    I don't quite understand your action...:eyebrow:

I just think it's because we're not so sociable like others. Me and some friends were talking about this some weeks ago, and I was the only one who could "be alone" for a couple of days, without feeling the need for friends or something. None of my friends could go a long period (a week or more) without hanging out with friends, but I could. They didn't think it was strange anymore 'cause they already know I'm a very strange guy lol :D

Amen to that! I seldom attend parties - never have been into the huge crowd, too much alcohol given to too many people who can't handle it, and flaring tempers. Too old for it now anyway :)

We don't do PlayStation tho - with us it's usually tabletop RPGs.
