never been to a normal party, been to a buncha lan parties. lan parties rock, but normal parties just dont interest me that much. i dont drink, do drugs, etc. and so what's the fun in going and hanging around a buncha drunk/high people? plus all of my friends are more likely to want to have or go to a lan party anyways. i can spend weeks out of contact with other people, and not really get the feeling that i need to talk to someone. one summer i litteraly sat on the couch for 6 weeks, getting up to pee and get food and drinks. didnt talk to anyone cept mum(which was very minimal speaking) for the entire time, was great.
You're missing the point: hanging around with a bunch of drunk or stoned people is NOT interesting - it's possibly one of the most boring things going. OTOH, being one of the people who's drunk or stoned is interesting, because everything's more fun when you're off your rocker. Not trying to condone getting wildly drunk here, I'm just trying to say that if getting drunk is your idea of a good time, you'll probably find that the other drunk people in the room are more interesting than the sober ones. I am probably the only in my year at school so it's pretty hard not to get invovled with parties and other social activities which my friends are attending. I do enjoy parties for the most part - just so long as I get drunk/high enough, otherwise it's boring. Even so I find it impossible to talk to people that I don't know really well. That's why I prefer to have mates round my house so we can drink and mess around on the computer. Still for those of you that have never been to one you're not missing much. The last one I went to some idiot let down the tyres of someone's car (while the owner and a few of us were inside!) and subsequently got a bloody nose.
I always sit there and think.. "WTF!! this is ****e!" I just hate the fact you get big headed people and the such. Just pisses me off so I don't bother.

im not a party person i alwasy stay in, not even a goign to the pub for a quiet drink person anymore but sod it, my ex's i have eather met over the net or they have asked me, if you wait they will come (its the waiting bit i cant stand )
All of my dates come from intros from friends, or friends of friends - Sometimes people I used to work with. Has worked well so far.
house parties are great, but only if i know at least 3 people there so i have ppl to talk to. I cant stand going if i dont know anyone. Its like clubbing, they rarely play the music i like, its full of orrible sweaty ppl who i dont know and generally i find it crap. I dont like beer or larger either and rarely drink alcohol - i stay drunk for a total of about 5 minutes, then feel sick and crap for the rest of the evening, so what's the point!? And i dont smoke, refuse point blank to try weed cause i just dont like the thought of it - makes my student life hard cause i dont fit in with the norm
not a partyman either. i just go if i'm with a group of friends i can talk to and prefer house parties since they're smaller (i don't like BIG parties). what i really like to do is gather a bunch of guys and gals i know and feel comfortable with and just sit down to talk, maybe drink (depending on the ocasion) and have a good time. i like drinking, but i'm not the kind of person that drinks just becouse. i do it when i go to parties and on special ocassions.
Just means you are a nerd, don't worry, I think you're in a community of nerds here. It's not a bad thing either, just laugh at everybody when you've got a BMW M5 when you're 21. There are tons of girls that are the same way, they'd rather stay home and do things around the house than go out and party their asses off. The problem being since neither you nor those type of girls go out, you never end up meeting. Meet chicks through your friends if you're not an outgoing person by nature. Your friends will have friends who have friends who have friends - somewhere in the middle of this chain will be females with personalities and ideals like yours. You'll be ok mate, you are young and have a long life ahead of you, don't worry about things in the meantime, just enjoy whatever it is you enjoy doing and let life work it's magic for you, don't try to create magic on your own.

im with penski. ive been the victim of several acts of random and senceless vilence, and its left me with the attitude that the world should be thankful im not in charge, or i would be culling anyone who thinks a good night is a bottle of rum and a brawl. i used to party/club but now i have a better time in poetry/coffee houses (although i think poetry is the BIGGEST CROCK OF **** that man ever invented), people in these places are usualy quite smart and dont look down their noses at you if your idea of a realy good time is counterstrike with a ping of 50.
Mostly tabletop due to the fact that live action RPGs are hard to come by here. Only one group runs them, and it isn't cheap.
Sorry, but I LOVE DRINKING AND PARTIES This thread kinda worries me. Thought the majority of the people who came here were actually normal...
