Just to have a mini rant...I have a midterm...tonight. 6-8pm on a friday?! It's crazy! I mean, how do they expect people to work well, apart from getting hungry around 7 you're tired and juuust can't wait to get away. Argh!

NB: not an angry rant more a flabberghasted one :p

People at school in England be greatful, no midterms for a start and the few that are, are during class in the daylight.

It's also my first ever scantron test so that adds a bit of novelty factor hehe.

People at school in England be [grateful].....well, my University had exams both in the evening (6pm like you), and occasionally on Saturday mornings. It happens.

^ Too true. Amongst exam week, I remember doing 6 hours of exams on one day in my first year at uni, chemistry followed by maths. Coincidentally it was also a Saturday. Gotta love nat sci. Bad, bad times!

Isn't your midterm at the time of your class?! and isn't mid-term up to 1h 30min (normal class time).

I hate scantron test... Because, the machine that scans each paper is highly prone to errors. So many times I had to see the prof to correct my corrected exams. :grr:
It must be a business class you are doing. Am I right?

I routinely have 2-3 mid-terms and finals each semester that start at 6 or 7 PM, and run for 3 hours, seeing as the majority of classes in my major are run at night because they are taught primarily by adjunct instructors who have "real" jobs during the day.... one 6-8 on a friday doesn't seem that bad lol

That sounds just horrible, have a snack before hand perhaps?

Personally I hate having any exams that start later than 9:30Am, I just like getting up and getting them over and done with, my moto is if I dont know enough that morning to pass cramming before the exam isnt going to help and having afternoon / evening exams annoy me.

I know what you mean. I had a mid term last fall on a tuesday from 6 to 9pm. OK, it wasn't a friday, but I knew I would be on the operating table less than 12 hours later. I can tell you I did not want to be there

Needless to say I failed the exam miserably

Agreed, Fri night sounds a bit grim.

My worst exam was a professional qualification one for my job. Was 6 hours long, and had to start at the same time across Europe, so we had to start at 8am.
