I'm the victim here buddy... You're supposed to feel some degree of remorse at least and that way we can prevent this kind of tragedy from happening again.

I came here in good faith... I trusted you people and look how it's turned out.

However... I feel it's not too late to stop all this nonsense... I named my twitter account "iWank". Tom didn't approve... No doubt bit tech also disapproves but on a whole nuther level disapproval.

No one got hurt... not seriously... The word **** was used... we learned about a german mountain and we should also learn that excessive violence against someone who names his twitter account "****" is not the way to a bright and happy future.

 

You obviously do - you're the one who made a thread about it LOL!

And there's really no reason to be so reactionary about this... you just need to take a chill pill. BT is a great community full of great folks; forgive us if we've advanced beyond your level of humour and don't giggle when we hear the word "****" or see it in a username.

You kinda asked for the wind-up by starting this thread, imo.

Okay, seriously, I know that **** ain't that offensive a word. I mean, I wouldn't say it in front of children or grandparents, but that's important. The site must cater for these people, and so holds the right to ban you for such reasons. I mean, when I go to a country, I abide by their rules. No knuckle shuffling in Indonesia, for instance, or face decapitation. THe same applies to a website.

Okay, Stanley was a bit immature, and they banned him for reasonable reasons. But seriously, can't we all just move on?

I had my first anger management class last week. I would say that so far it's working better than expected.

The old me would have reacted much worse.

Just imagine how calm I'll be by week 24.

Also I just told my elderly mom what happened here at bit tech and she's really angry now. I've had to calm her down and tell her it will be ok.

(I actually didn't mention the word "****" to her).

 

This made me laugh.

And I agree about the mob mentality things just blow up on the internet, it's what happened to Amanda todd every one just jumped on the band wagon to torment her.

I think all our lives carry stress... some of the stress is hidden and sometimes it comes to the surface.

There's no question of "****" being childish and I don't have a problem with Tom disliking me do it. I just thought it was kind of funny to get that email. I've logged in on that Twitter account at quite a few sites over the past few years.

Amanda Todd... Sad. We react in different ways to stuff like that.

Agreed. I resisted closing the thread because I thought that the Bit-Tech community would be old and wise enough to work its own stuff out. I'm pleased to see that it has.

I got an infraction for referring to myself as a dickhead in jest, it wasn't filtered out so Dennis must be okay with it, but the mods took offense I guess. I got over it though, just like most of you should do with this thread.
