Graphics I just accidentally my whole graphics card...

    Well it seems that the fans on my rad stalled and thermal expansion caused my loop to spring a leak, right onto my 8800GTX. I am not a happy bunny right now.

    Got to replace the 8800 asap but my budget is pretty limited ATM so I'm thinking of a GTX260-216. Can anyone tell me whether there are more than one type of PCB for this card?

    Well the palits and gainwards are non-reference. Dunno about 260 revisions but the 285 had one.

    the 260 had 3 revisions if I remember rightly, the original one, one with the 216 shaders, then again where the Video RAM changed position

    Sorry guys, I'm in a crappy mood because I just fried my computer. I'm starting to wonder whether I might not be better off just getting a second hand 8800gtx. They're going for about £70 and in fact there's one on the FS forum for £70 Inc waterblock.

    un-funnily enough I just found out 2 of my fans had stopped on my double rad.
    Luckily the tripple has enough oompphh to cool my cpu and GPU.


    Bad luck mate.

    I'd be tempted to get sumut really cheap and they buy a new card in the Christmas offload.
    You know when every one has got their new cards and want to dump their old ones.

    For seventy quid I would go for it mate, then there is no faffing about and you can get your rig up and running quickly.
