Rant I just got owned.

Well.... here it goes. I order my unicycle on the 17th of August. My friend ordered a different model the day before. Now, his came on the 28th of August. I assumed mine would come the next day.

It didn't.

"Okay, okay, it'll come this week." I told myself that. Over and over.

Finally, today, I got a call from the store I ordered it through. This is what the conversation was...

Store: "Hello, is this Logan?"

Me: "Yes."

Store: "Okay, hello. Now, here's the tale of your unicycle. It came into our other branch two days ago, and we finally got it up here. So we open it up, excited because you've been waiting for so long and we just wanted you to get it, and we take it out. It's missing its pedals and (some other part near the pedals that I can't remember). We call up their main branch in Georgia and tell them to get those parts down here NOW. They shipped them already, the only thing is that you're going to have to wait another 5 to 7 days.

Me: ".... They're shipping over this weekend right?"

Store: "Yeah, they'd better be."

I'm pleased with the stores stance on the horrible slowness of this all, but the worst part of all this is the fact that my 90% complete unicycle is sitting in a store thats a 5 minute drive from me, allowing me to look at it, but not ride it. The store even told me "I guess you could come look at it if you like." There was a laugh I let out, but it killed me inside...

Gonna ask for a discount/store credit/partial refund?

 

I'd love to take up unicycling again, its a weird and wonderful hobby especially when combined with a little juggling. Pics when you get it!

 

Unicycling was the one clown skill I couldn't really get the hang of when I was training as a 'Childrens Entertainment Technician". Doesn't help that I can't really ride a bike to start with.

You should totally ask for a discount.

I didn't think there were.

 

Couriers will (I know City Link does definitely).

 

I think I'm going to call up the company and whine until they give me a discount. I mean, 3, going on 4 weeks? That's ridiculous. To my location, their estimation was 8-10 days.

 

I feel positively upset by this thread.

More so that people pay good money to own a one wheeled bike, than it being late to be frank.

Doesn't that mean you have to use the pedals backwards - pedal back to go forwards?
Counterintuitive, and quite difficult to learn, I'd imagine?

The only problem is that in the redneck town I live in, theres no other place to buy unicycles - you have to order them in.
