ok, so i find myself in a bit of a rut... I will forever encourage new games, concepts, IPs, technology, gamestyles and all the rest of it. BUT i just want good old fashioned gameplay. what i mean is, i want more old school stuff. at the same time, i'm massively bored of mario, gta and other big name franchises because they're games that are just repititions of games i've already played! anyone else understand my gibberish?
N is free, simple, freakin awesome and will drive you insane. I'd highly recommend checking it out. What sort of style are you after? RTS, racing, FPS, platformer...?
One of our developer columnists, James Silva, has some great little retroesque games for free. RPGs, Brawl 'Em Ups and Sandbox Zombie Survival games. All free, all easy, all gory, all fun. I especially recommend the Arcade mode of Survival Crisis Zero. http://skasoftware.com/ - bottom of the page
