    well to be fair, you dont just plug it in and go... you plug in the drive, plug in the drive, plug in the ipod, then restore it to factory settings, then go :hehe:

    You get a triple benefit with this approach. Obviously, there's the capacity upgrade, but you're also turning the IPod into a solid-state device, which is great. Finally, you're left with a 1.8" mechanical hard drive to disassemble and play with!
