    Greetings everyone

I've put together a pretty fast P4 in a slim AOpen H340H case and I'm having loads of trouble finding a good low profile graphics card. The best I could find is a Radeon 9600SE which isn't nearly fast enough. I'll settle for anything above that, so if you know of a good low profile card, please tell! :(
I considered fitting a full size card parallel to the Mobo, but it won't work since there's not enough room towards the bottom and the CPU fan is too close towards the top.
I've seen AGP extension cables, but those only support AGP 2X.

I seriously don't know what to do, any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks!

I don't think you can get anything higher than a 9600SE low profile... there's a FX5200 low profile I saw on google but..

there's loads of 32MB/64MB low profile cards (ie: GF4 mx440)

I'd say, if a card riser won't do and if a 9600 SE isn't good for you (which plays every games), then wait for the 9700/9800 low profile otherwise you won't have any other choice to get hte 9600 SE ...

Zap got a normal 9600 PowerColor lo-pro card for his Media PC. There are links in the project log thread and on his site [ http://www.zapwizard.com ]

Its not possible - the PCB space would be too tight currently for such a thing i guess.

    *grumbles*
i've been having this problem too...
it'd be nice if they made long and low cards - length is a far easier issue to deal with in most systems, they could make versions that are 245 mm long (width of a standard mATX or ATX motherboard) and much lower - surely this would be simply a case of re-arranging the components on a PCB - i know this means a whole second design for them and it's unlikely to happen soon, but it would be nice considering how much the industry is otherwise putting into SFF machines.

This is one card I was considering from Elsa:
    http://www.elsa.com.tw/EN/Products/detail.asp?newsid=255

It's based on the ATi Fire GL 9600, it has only 64MB of RAM, but I think it has the 128bit RAM instead of the 64bit RAM on the Radeon 9600SE. It's a better option in my opinion, but I can't find the card for sale anywhere so I ordered a Powercolor 9600SE over the weekend. :sigh:

    happy modding!
