I have been using the 1st Gen Microsoft Optical when it 1st came out. Decide to treat myself to new mouse Time for a replacment I need something the similar to it size and shape, I look at other mouses and they baffle me, weights, laser, and costing over £100!!!
Logitech G5 is what I use at work, very nice And the Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse 2000 at home, again very nice
i would recomend the g9 over the g5. i have owned both. the g5 is a good mouse but it dosen't compare to the g9
I'd recommend a Logitech MX1100: Wireless. The greatest mouse invention evar tbh, I'm never going back to a wired one. Ever. Don't be fooled by all these l33t gamers who say that wireless is too slow, I've never found any lag whatsoever with a decent wireless mouse, I can't say about cheap ones though.
Just based on my personal experience i think they're both good mice, the G9 just looks uncomfortable to me
What are you using it for? If it's gaming, personally I'd recommend the deathadder. The Mamba looks pretty good but it's very expensive. There's a lot of gaming mice at the moment, but Razer seems to have the best and most consistent reviews. Logitech's G5 and 9 are both apparently very good as well, but I haven't used them. Weighted mice are a bit of a gimmick I reckon. By far the best thing to do is to go to a decent computer shop and have a nose - they should let you have a proper look and play to see what suits your hands.
I own a G5 and to me it is the perfect mouse. However I know several people who have moved from a G5 to a G9 and swear by that. I dont think you would be dissapointed with either mouse
any mouse you hand fits, and you feel comfortable with. worst thing is when you have to adapt your playing style to fit the mouse (eg, from palm to claw) i liked my housemate's G5, so i bought one and really enjoy using it. not everyone is the same.
G9 is horrible. Mamba is lovely, ditto ever Razer mouse actually; I have a Copperhead at home which rocks. Sidewinder X8 is good too.
I got a Logitech MX620. A pretty basic high-end wireless laser mouse. The batteries last for over a year FYI. Highly recommended.
