Right, the title pretty much says it all.

    - Price is not an issue.
    - 13 to 15 inches screen. I need to carry this around.
    - 16:10 would be nice but I understand no one does this anymore, so 16:9 will do.
    - I'd like to game on this. Low settings at native resolution is fine, and 100+fps in TF2 would be really nice, I miss playing that game SO DAMN MUCH.
    - Good screen (color, blacks etc). I understand laptops don't really offer much in this... arena, but I have nothing else to do most of my photo work on so this is quite an important requirement.

I'm in no hurry (can wait a couple of weeks) but I'm not going to sit around waiting for Ivy Bridge when the only machine I have is a dying C2D clunker.

    Thanks in advance :)

I like this one. Link. Since price is no option. I would upgrade the memory. I might also purchase it without the SSD and upgrade to SSD myself to save some money. My Lenovo is treating me well for the past year now. One HDD failure, but it happens . . . that's why you backup.

I suggest you concentrate on finding one with an IPS display then as MOST will use TFT tech still - even semi-high end ones. Graphics - you'll want at least a GTS 540M and you'll be looking at 15 inches. 13 inchers will only offer 13x8 displays and most likely GT 520M graphics.

Thanks, but the graphics on that are...well, crap. :p
I don't mind a small display, and the 520M seems to be able to handle the important stuff (L4D, CS:S and TF2) just fine.

But the real question is, WHERE can I find a manufacturer that will advertise IPS displays (or even use them)? I've fallen for the ASUS U36JC-B2B since I played with one a couple of weeks ago but the screen is not awesome and of course, nor are the graphics. The design and build are just... brilliant.

The graphics on the U36 are 520M! And there's not much you can do in a 19mm thick chassis though: it has to be TFT if you want thin ;)

    I know, which is also how I know it'll handle CS:S, TF2 and L4D :p

Pity the screen isn't better. So, any ideas on how I can find IPS screens on laptops?

No idea sorry. Google? :p It's certainly a rare thing, which is why everyone compensates with shitty glossy screens :(

Still no luck with IPS panels + half-decent graphics. I'm thinking of picking up a 15" Macbook Pro. The more I use those damn things, the more I like them.

Perhaps I'll just buy a monitor. The U2311 or the 2209WA are probably cheap-ish.
