Max budget for Psu is £350.

I'm looking at the silverstone 1500w at the mo. What is your recommendation and why?

    Cheers,

    Simon.

To be perfectly honest that's the only one around that I can find. That thing could power my entire house and some!

Yep, I could now just imaging turning my PC on with that Psu installed and watching all the houses on the street dimming. Lol

Why do you need 3x the average need? :p

I don't drink, do drugs or smoke, due to my job.(I don't think it's wise when driving a petrol tanker) So this is what I spend my money on. (Misses and my Daughter always comes first).

3x the average need is still needed to max out Crysis with my ultra config....God I love that game!

I get the feeling Simon might be planning something utterly insane which features negative numbers on a temperature gauge ;)

I hoestly can't find anything other than that one either, spent a few minutes mooching about but there doesn't seem to be than many options above 1200W. Any possibilities of running with 2 PSU's instead? Maybe one dedicated to the WC?

I did think of buying a second PSU, but I would have nowhere to mount it. So it has to be 1.:thumb:

I still think you have about 250w to play with on your current PSU

At the time 1200W was enough. To run my rig with my gpus at 960,2000,2200 I can't run my processor at 5Ghz. If I drop the clocks on my gpus I can then run my CPU at 5Ghz.
I'm hoping I can run all 3 gpus at 1000,2040,2200 and my CPU at 5Ghz with the new Psu.

That silverstone unit is VERY good! don't know if you know maxishine on youtube, but he powers an sr2 with two x5650 @ 4Ghz! plus 3 gtx 580 hydro coppers :jawdrop:

skip to about halfway through to see his system http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_9zI1nyv9Dk

    You're insane

You've gotta be getting close to non-sub-sero 3DMark records now.

Is it just me or is it crazy to see all that crazy kit in a rig and he hasn't gone with that gorgeous SR-2 chipset block?

On topic: if it can power that i'm sure it'll power yours Simon, the thing has 8 12v rails for gods sake

Thanks guys, I guess it will be the Silverstone 1500w PSU.

    Cheers,

    Simon.
