Anyone know where I can get pressed apple juice in the US? I'm willing to buy in bulk. I got back from London about a week ago and my craving for pressed apple juice kicked in again. None of that crappy Motts stuff, I want me some pressed juice! Help!
Checked health food stores? Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, etc. Wal-Mart might even have it, I've definitely seen it before.
Truck farms or outdoor flea markets. Second option is press your own. Seriously nice Apples this time of year. Just turning in the West. Tasty.
Apples + press = Pressed apple juice. You can do it the wine way and use your feet if you're really feeling bored.
now THAT i want to see! I get the craving for apple juice from time to time and end up getting "are you pregnant?" from the GF now i just have a strange image of Stuey standing on apples (yep im male just in case....so i dont think i can get pregnant! )
Thanks for the info and suggestions. I'll try a health food store this weekend! *Maybe* one day I'll try to press my own. But not now, my feet are weak due to lack of pressed apple juice. I also noticed that Pepsi & Sprite tastes much better in London than here. Actually, soda tastes better anywhere but in the US.
Yes, but it's different - it's typically transparent yellow/orange. It's about the difference between orange juice and orange colored water.
I like the standard Mott's apple juice we have here, I just wish that I could buy apple soda from stores.. Is Fanta Apple or Apple Mirinda common over there? I had them both when I was in Egypt, and they're great. Pressed apple juice looks too weird, more like tomato juice than apple juice..
Curious - the apple juice I always have looks like the yellowy first one. Perhaps it's just fancier down in London? Anyway, I've got some serious cravings for some American sugar - swaps? Edit: We did have Fanta Apple I think, although I've not seen it for a while and always thought it tasted funny - sort of like apple pop with cream in it...
I believe the 'redder' one also presses the apple skins. The pale one is innards only. I have mashed up cored and seeded apple in my blender with the skin on and it's redder. john
I had it on the Eurostar, and then again several places in London and then again at the airport. The pressed juice tasted like liquified applesauce and was totally awesome! I dunno, it's hard to explain. It was just so much better! Maybe b/c it was made from was Cox applies and I'm used to whatever Motts & Adam-Eve uses?
I think what you should look for is "unfiltered" apple juice. Farmers markets may have it soon. Also, check health food stores.
I made my own wine not to long ago. and boy does it have kick, it was like apple cider flavored vodka.
Tree Top brand available from my local Kroeger/King Soopers has a couple varieties labeled on the bottle "100% pressed juice". Doesn't seem too hard to find now that I look around. john
Not just London, no. It's hardly a fancy drink - you can buy it in any supermarket over here, usually store branded. The urine coloured stuff is made from concentrate, whereas the 'cloudy' stuff if the proper 100% pressed Apple juice rather than the cheap watered down stuff.
