Very true and very important! Pass plus is optional, but some insurance companies treat this as a years no claims bonus, thus cheaper insurance! Congrats too!
well done dude, passed mine a few months ago, now you realy start learning how to drive! there are some arseholes on the road
Insurance depends on alot of factors. Age of car, miles, type, engine, insurance groupe, area u live, were parked, e.t.c. If you bye a old car, higher thr insurance cus has less safty features. My first car was a ford fiesta MK3, L reg, 100,000 miles or so, cost me £1200 3rd party. I was 19 then. (Car only cost £350!!) Then after a year got a astra MK3, M reg, 47,000 miles. Insurance was about £700, (Car cost £1200) Still 3rd party fire and theift A year later same car £500 or so. SOOO much money, dont forget road tax, MOT, service, parking tickets!!! off topic - got clamped in london once, £135!!! I was on a double yellow. Stayed at mates for one night, had job interbiew next day!! Never got the job thou. Anyway a good place to find out about car prices, and insurance is http://www.parkers.co.uk/ Have fun driving, you will get board after a bit, ...well depends on the car *day dreams about a nice DB7, BMW 7 series, and all the others*
Not forgetting petrol :S If you plot this onto a graph, it would be a valley shape. For the cheapest insurance, get a car around 1998-2001, and don't get a peugeot 1/2/306, they are "boy racer" cars, this is why insurance for these are so expensive. My 1998 Renault Clio insurance with Privilege costed me £1555.55 (good number!) last year (fully comp). This year it will cost me £460 with Norwich Union. I haven't claimed anything - touchwood - this is why I have the big drop. If you crash, the insurance will go rocketing up, often costing an extra grand! Be careful and good luck in "safe driving for life".
Driving on your own for the first couple of days after your test is such a great feeling - I personally hammered it (due to being on the parents' insurance) and had an awesome time. Definitely beats getting the bus (and not having to pay for petrol is a right bonus...)
yeah, i hammered it after i got my licence too. i got a ticket the day after i passed my test. shouldn't have passed my test either. sped through a school zone at ~15km/hr above the limit, and she still passed me
yeah cheers guys! im driving to college today in it go me! so long for a 14year old golf mk2, with 61k on the click. It's already hit 62k. ben
Ipswich? I'm gonna be there this weekend (today in fact!). Must remember to look both ways before crossing. Then Run. Well done tho, took me 3 attempts when I did mine.
