Hey all, Sorry for posting a completely pointless thread, but I'm a bit stoked as this morning I passed my driving test - 6 minors, third try. Woo yay. AH
But ours are friggen easy. I mean I could have completely skipped parallel parking and still passed (and effectively did, there was only one car to parallel park behind, so a bit hard to screw up!). I remember the day I went to take mine there was some lady who had just moved from England and had to get a learner's permit because that's just how the system works, and the attendant was practically crying from laughter because she knew the British test is actually hard. I think mine took *maybe* eight minutes. About twenty to GET to the thing, and another thirty in line. I think the only way to not pass the american one is either hitting someone or running a redlight/stopsign. Anyways, congrats to ya. Now I'll use my nonexistant mod powers and move this to the nonexistant "completely pointless threads" forum Oh the nonexistant humanity!
Wanna take some practice quizes for the NY State license? http://www.nydmv.state.ny.us/dmanual/default.html
Quiz Results Score # of Questions # Completed # Correct # Wrong/No Answer 100% 9 9 9 0 hah, 100% Cheesecake on parallel parking. And I don't live in NY It's all common sense on the written stuff anyways. Except on the written for my permit which had about a third of the questions on regulations for vehicle emissions :/ ooh, 100% on signs too. THAT was a hard one
Congrates on ur liscence, I should go for mune but i cant be bothered. My bike gets me everywer, inclueding Palmerston (75Km away) Yay Well have fun drivin
Well done on the pass, I passed on my second attempt. Our test is hard, but apparently the German test is slightly harder. Both of which are a lot harder than what passes for a test in most US states.
the Illinois test was a breeze, but i took 3 times to pass over here the thing is, the first two times i took the test he was pulling majors and minors out of thin air. maybe my first one wasnt passable (but not to the extent that he reckoned), but my second one was perfect, but he reckoned i was too close to the side of the road when backing up round a corner (i didnt touch the curb at all, this is after him saying "as close to the curb as possible") then on my last test i had just about given up, and probably shouldnt have passed, i coudlnt be bothered really, and i passed After this, talking to friends, many of them had the same guy as i had my first two times, and none of them had ever passed good luck on passing anyway, its too bloody expensive to get driving here to fail too many times!
Yea, the "test" we have here is a joke. I remember the parallel park part of my test waaaaaaaaaaay back in '84. I had to essentially pull in behind a car along side the road. No parallel parking, just pulling up to the car. The "difficult" part of the test was making sure I didn't turn right on red when there was a sign prohibiting it.
i always get the urge to do that over here when im stopped at lights (well, turn left on red, because turning right on red would cause soooo many problems) as im used to doing it over there and it just makes sense then i realise that i may get in a spot of trouble for it
