1 word. Environmentalists. Image is very important to a company, and there are plenty of people who would take a story like this, add a bit of spin to it, and use it to discredit the company. If they were over on this side of the pond, it wouldn't surprise me if someone sued them. Not to mention several investigations would crop up, and fines would be levied. People love it when stuff like this happens.
Read the cache You shouldn't have posted that mate! Hope your employers don't find out about this or you could say bye-bye to your bonus and perhaps your job...
2 words: the law. People and the law tend to frown on corporate neglect that could potentially cause the fiery deaths of hundreds and cause massive life-threatening chemical smoke and pollution for thousands of residents of a large geographical area. Such kind of corporate neglect could get a company into big legal trouble. Some people might say not unreasonably so. Perhaps you'd feel more relaxed about it if all this went off across the road from where you live?
I don't think there's much chance of this making the news, not without some major internal leakage, like multiple staff confessions, or hidden phone video or sound recording... those sort of phones aren't allowed on flammable work sites, and as if anyone just happened to have sneaked one in that day. Even if some reporter stumbled on this thread, and looked at the cache... that's nothing but some guy on the net talking about something, without any actual evidence. BTW, I believe you true gamer, job well done It's a shame to hear that place is run like the springfield nuclear plant however

I have a feeling that this would be reported to the HSE as a near miss so will be in the public domain anyway. I will check with the missus and find out.
Because these amounts of people in the area and surrounding would have either, been killed or 3rd degree burns. So for the fact I saw what I saw, and did something about it, before it could have escalated. Let alone the Forest, where all the well sites are located, with all that combustible material! Yes it has to be reported to the HSE. This has gone really high up, so someone will be disciplined/Fired for this. Anyway, I would like to know how they have worded it to the HSE?
Noobs, your google-fu is weak. 1) go to google. 2) paste "http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=211691" into the search bar. 3) hit enter. 4) first result, click 'cached' 5) ta-da!
This brings up a version from earlier today. So, mr. rolleyes, tell us how we get to the version from several days ago.
