The Strobist website is having a competition I thought was kinda cool. Shoot 2 head shots, one of which has to be your own. Who ever, where ever, how ever you want. So why not, in addition to the POTM, do the same here? (no reason you can't submit it into the strobist pool as well) Just for fun, to get some direction and get away from what you usually shoot. No time limit, no theme, no stress (try and avoid NSFW though, kthx); just 2 head shots - one of which has to be yours. and yes, I will be submitting here as well as at the strobist site. Go, Go, Go.
This has me thinking. Instead of doing a PotM contest, perhaps we could change the format to an open challenge instead. No voting, no winners, just an open concept (such as the head shot idea). Each person submits his or her attempts, and anyone who so desires can offer feedback. The PotM contest seems to be dieing of anyway. I haven't submitted anything in a while, so I'm just as guilty of that as anyone. I was just thinking that if we remove the competitive aspect of the thing, maybe more people would be encouraged to participate. What do you all think? -monkey
