A/V I want to learn to play the guitar

    Firstly. If this isn't the right forum then if a freindly mod could move it that would be much appreciated.

    Secondly I would like to learn to play the guitar but I'm a real novice at this. First thing is that I think it's going to need to be electric because The peple I share my house with are a pain in the arse at the best of times and I think running the audio through headphnes is my best bet.

    If you could recommend me some equipment or good tuition books/vides that would be great.

    Local independant music shops are a boon for this type of thing, go and have a chat with them.

    I just kinda learned by myself, started with tabs, then decided to memorize chords and what not.

    It's really not hard when your major is in music performance...
