I'm a CE major at The University Of Minnesota. I live about 1.5 miles north of campus so after class today I catch the bus like usual and get off at my regular stop. I walk the alley that goes behind my house and as I'm walking down it I hear "Hey you...You in the red shirt! (checks shirt color, shirt color = red, thinks Uh-Oh, walk faster)". "You, the one with the blue backpack (what the hell color is my backpack again?...don't turn around)" "The one walking like a girl!" At this point I'm even with my house so I make turn into my back yard and look back... ... ... Its a freakin 12 year old girl on a scooter coming after me! This must be one ballsy girl because I'm 6'4" and have a 3 day beard. When I was her age I was scared of everyone my own age and especially older people (And I lived in a small town, Not Minne-Freaking-apolis). So I just went into my house and sat there, too confused to do anything. I'm still rather confused about it...Should I be scared to walk alone even if it is 3:30 pm? WTF? -Sammo1999
You should have felled her with a right cross; it would have made the scooter ride home all the more enjoyable.
I guess in the US it is advisable to avoid any kind of conflict. There is one thing I really want to know! WTF did she want?
WHAT THE HELL SERIOUSLY If someone wants to speak to you or wants to grab your attention you usually stop and see what they want. Why is this even a thread? I am glad she took the piss out of you because you where too afraid to talk to a little girl. Grow some balls
wow...I was not actually frightened, I added it to the story for dramatic effect . Also the entire event confused me, if she actually wanted something she would not have shouted insults. What could I have done? If she had turned around she probably would have continued to insult me from afar. If I approached her she would have ran or continued to insult me. I'm not about to trade insults with a little kid, and I'm sure not about to smoke the kid in the face, although it might be funny to see her surprised look as I did. My real question is: what did she want. Did she want me to turn around and approach her? I can't immagine so. Did she want to catch up to me so that she could rob and beat me? I doubt it. What did she have to gain from the situation? Also how did she know I want some homeless guy just waiting for someone to push one of my buttons so that I could begin my murderous rampage (hey it could happen). Also I found the event rather funny and thought some of you might as well. My house mates sure found it funny and odd. -Sammo1999
Perhaps the very first time when she clearly identified you, you should have stopped and turned around? Then she may not have chosen to continue to try and get your attention. Realise you where afraid of her and thus feel power and want to insult you.
Heh, guess I must be too used to college life where everyone is always trying to hand you fliers and get you to sign this and take this survey... The only way to get by is to not make eye contact and ignore everyone. If she really needed something, like her cat was stuck in a tree or something terribly important like that I would think she would make it clear that she needed help or the like and not just yell randomly. If it was anything else, such as she was selling cookies for whatever, I'm in college and hence have little money. If it was a survey/petition, I'm not interested. -Sammo1999
I keep a concealed machete for situations just like this. Now that's how a man would have resolved the conflict. Or, yeah... http://b3ta.com/questions/insults/
don't laugh about stuff like that.... in certain parts of the world they, very young kids, call you with some innocent voice and then knife you in the face or in the ass and then steal you cash and in the process kill you, that or his friend big bubba, that is hiding in a corner waiting for you to stop and get distracted, will kick your ass into the next century and take your cash and then do bad things with you...... it depends mostly on were you live.
Unless you were over by Cedar Riverside, West Broadway, or certain places on Franklin Ave, I would have found out what she wanted. The survey people aren't that bad. They're polite when you say no, for the most part.
hahha yeha i used to do that to, then i got robbed by a pack of black guys in a car last halloween(stole razor and threatened to take us in car) and about 2 weeks ago i hear "hey you!" turn around someone in a car rolled down window and pulled out a gun and fired what i presume blanks. No "drama" added to this one. Do you think my "balls" have grown? seriously wise up. i find it haliarious. I think you should have turned around, not thta you did anythign wrong, but becuase it owuld have made a more interesting story. If i were you and i was right outside my house i problably would have donet he same thing. I mean i wouldn't want 2 angry parents knowing where i live because their daughter is an idiot. Second: i would have turned around when shes like "hey you" maybe... but lol the one who walks like a girl XD
A freind of mine was in a car waiting for his friend to come down from his apartment. some kid runs up to the car and taps on the window. So he rolls it down and the kid points a plastic gun in his face and yells "BANG" and then says "if this was a real gun, you'd be dead!" and then just runs away. kids these days.
No need to "wise up". I would rather live my life without being terrified of being shoot ever day and die at 30 than live every moment being afraid.
