I had no trouble getting this chip to run stably in benchmarks (Prime 95, 3d Mark 11 etc) @ 5GHZ with my previous P8P67 (Non-Pro/deluxe, just bog standard B3 revision), same dark Rock cooler.
I now have a better case, with massively improved cooling (9 case fans in a Carbid 500r, CPU Temps reading between 31-33c in Core Temp) but am struggling to advance beyond 4.5GHZ without blue screens etc.
Tried the Custom PC voltage options etc of 1.43, 1.91 PLL etc to no avail.
Has anyone here got a similar setup and can recommend some setups, tips on improving my world?
    (Mobo 0403 BIOS)

All I did on my i7 2700k to get 5ghz was to increase the multiplier to 50, manually set the RAM timings and bus speed, change the LLC to extreme and set the vcore to 1.5v and then work my way down. Should be all you need really

You don't really need to adjust PLL, just incerase VCCIO/SA, LLC and Vcore. Also set the VRM frequency to extreme and disable any power saving. The non-standard P8P67 is non DIGI+ VRM so your settings will be different. What setting is your memory?

Check here too for guides: http://rog.asus.com/i/maximus-iv-motherboards/

    Thanks for the tip Flame.
1st off, isn't that voltage a little high?
Also, when you say manually set the RAM timings, should they not be correct by default?

Not for 5GHz, though as he said he worked down from there. And memory often defaults to 1333 so when set to 1600 sometimes the timings can be wrong.

Exactly what noiz said. Always make sure as sometimes the timings can be different. Also I started at 1.5v as a base and just worked my way down, when you hit 5ghz you need to increase the vcore quite a lot. I was using 1.37v for a 4.8ghz overclock but for 5ghz was not happening even at 1.45v

Thanks you for the advice. I shall try out what has been suggested and post back success/failure later today.

Memory is set correctly 9-9-9-27 2T command rate 1.65v.
I tried the settings suggested and have managed to achieve a stable 4.8GHZ OC.

What vcore are you using with the 4.8?

When you was using the Asus p8p67 board how much vcore were you using then to achieve 5ghz?
