@Slizza, may i ask what speed is your bclk set in the memory menu screenshot?

    default 133?

at 180Mhz, what are the avaliable RAM speeds to you?

i really need to know what are the avaliable multiplyers avaliable.

many thanks for this, so the lowest multipliers are x6 and x8. therefore bclk at 200Mhz it is possible to use 1333Mhz RAM without overclocking the RAM.

Everything in bios is pretty much default voltage except vcore, vtt, and ofcourse memory 1.65v. i worked voltage backwards from 1.375v (safe max voltage) on vcore and vtt 4GHz HT on until linx and intelburntest stable both bios settings and foxconn Aegispanel-OC. I've tried more GHz and voltage with/without Ht but with video editing/gaming i'm satisfied with 4GHz HT 1.34v. DONE. hyperthreading is a comfort.

Just wanted to say THANKS PookeyHead!

Used your settings and ended up with a nice 3.8GHz overclock.

    I have a i7 920 DO, Asus P6t Deluxe V2, Corsair XMS3 6Gb, Titan Fenrir cooler.

I had to leave Load Line (V droop) enabled. Would not boot with out it.

I also could not raise my UCLK above 3.4MHz. Wouldn't boot if I did.

I also made one other significant change that has lowered my Prime95 stress temps down by about 2-3 degrees C. I tested my memory using a Mem86+ Ver 4.0 boot disk. I lowered Dram Bus Voltage all the way down to 1.50 volts with no problems.

I have been stress testing with Prime95 and Realtemp

Does anyone know of any issues under "voltaging" your memory?

    Thanks for all the help!

I think on mine, the answer lies with the QPI/Dram voltage, it's 1.28 atm. It boots fine at 4Ghz (200bclck) and seems a lot more stable than when QPI/Dram was at 1.27. I've even managed to lower the cpu voltage. Might up QPI/Dram a bit more and see where that gets me.

    Welcome.

I've never tried under volting my RAM no. It seems quite happy at 1.66. It doesn't get hot, or cause me a problem. I may have a play however... just because I can :)

Can someone explain to me what load line callibration does?

I run my i7 920 at 3.6Ghz 1.125vcore, 1.195QPI/Vtt.. It's 6Hours prime stable with LLC on, but when i turn it off it's not even 2 minutes stable

before there was load line calibration available in bios people used to vdroop mod their motherboards with solder/wire or pencil mod them.
when your cpu is stressed under load load line calibration will spike cpu voltage enough to maintain stability. only safe to use at low core voltages because it will not sense how much is too much at higher blck. so, people can say "i have 4ghz at 1.20 vcore". BUT they have LLC enabled and automatically raises volts therefore "safely" cheating stability for the average overclocker.

you can just disable LLC and set your real vcore until it's stable if you're only aiming for 4ghz oc.
    or not, your choice.

If you can see it, brilliant! Not stable at all and its super toasty hitting 94c on core 3 :D

    Now for water...

I've been thinking of doing some over clocking but, I don't think it is really worth doing right now, My PC does every thing I ask of it stock so I might over clock it just to see what numbers I get but after that I will just bring it back down...

Once it's overclocked, why bring it back down? If you keep speedstep active, it will loaf along at a lower speed/power until it's called upon to do some work... and then it can only be a good thing to have a faster machine.

Mine's idling along at 2.4GHz while I write this, using 45watts. Yet when needed, it's the full fat 3.8GHz.

Even when running flat out it never goes past 70 degrees, and it only needs 1.2v.

I can think of no reason to run stock speeds.

Quite.... but he has a Coolermaster V8. Should be OK for a reasonable OC if the volts are low enough :thumb:

    Hi!
    I have
    CPU: Core i7 920
    MOBO: Gigabyte EX-58 DS4
    RAM: G. Skill DDR 3 6gb (1066 Mhz)

I tried to overclock to 2.88 Ghz as you can see in the BIOS:

But here is what i got when booted into Win7 64 bit:

First for few second it says about 3Ghz with multiplier x21 (but in BIOS it`s 18),
and then drop down to 1,9 Ghz with multiplier x12 and stays around that.

Can you tell me what I am doing wrong?
Thanks in advance for your reply.

the x21 multi is turbo mode (turn it off if your overclocking above 3.8Ghz really)
It increases core Mhz when otehr cores are idling

the 1.9 comes about because you have speed step enabled in the bios turn it off. This lowers the speed when idling.

also 160x18 with 960 mem is a silly combination for an overclock of 200mhz.

try 166bclk with x20 with mem multi at x8 with a uncore frequency of x17 (2822mhz)

for an overlcok to 3.3Ghz you shoudlnt have to increase the Vcore really.

disable speedstep and turbo mode and it will stay at 18x160

however, whats wrong with using the full x20 multiplier?
