I wouldn't worry about it. EVs will likely phase out once Ammonia gains ground as a low carbon fuel.

Not really their fault when it's the network that's being shut down, and you can still set it manually

Well, 3G is shutting down first. 2G network, which these oldest Leaf uses, will live on for a while.

They gave a really short notice just 1 month. The manual setting is to set the timer in the car, zero flexibility, can only have 1 activation per day. It is different to able to turn it whenever desire remotely.

But I knew it back in 2020 when I Emailed Nissan that their desktop website portal need updating. They were still using Flash! Reply was that there's no plan to update the website. Whole thing had zero support plan built-in.

Our (petrol) car's got OnStar, which presents as a button in the ceiling, a few menu options, and a mobile signal strength indicator 'cos I think it's either 3G or 2G or both. The UK OnStar service was discontinued... about two weeks after we bought the car(!)

Not that OnStar was worth the subscription to start with: who, in this day of an always-online supercomputer in your pocket, wants to press a button and ask a concierge to book a hotel for 'em?

Classic Japanese attitude to technology though isn't it? They still use fax machines in a lot of cases!

It needs a proper clever cloggs to pull apart the protocols and hack one in
