Networks ICS - why will it still not work!!

    Ok i have two PC's the host running w2k (so 2 be xp pro) and the old client is Xp pro, i HAD ICS working with my 56k - then i buggerd it up :duh: and i haven ha it woring since

    - also i have since had midband fitted and i cant get it to work with that eather :(
    - i have zone alarm on the host (but it wont work with out it any way)

    and Im at realy lost i've go thought avery thing it sayes here and it still wont work :mad:

    You will need to state what you have done.

    That article is a tad strange. Maybe win2K is different than XP, but I find it much better to turn DHCP services completely off.

    Sure, have them on and run the wizard to set the network up first. But then, turn the services off and pop in the ip's on each machine by hand and set default gateway = job done (apart from setting the firewall).

    You have turned firewalls off whilst you are trouble shooting, ya?

    Umm.... you dont fancy explaining that last bit? Zone alarm, networks and first timers tend not to mix well :eyebrow:
