    there are two types.

one type is meant to plug into an IDE-slot on the mainboard and to connect SATA drives to it. (link)

the other type plugs into the IDE-connector on the drive and is connected to the SATA port on the mainboard. (link)

By the looks of it, you bought type 1. Take a look at my last update (and one of a couple of weeks ago), I have type 2. They're looking very different.

no problem man, glad I could help.

I should alert you if one thing though. Once you have windows installed, all is well, it recognizes the IDE-SATA conversion. But, when you want to install windows, you need the BIOS to recognize it. In that case you need a BIOS that can 'see' that optical drives are connected to the SATA ports. You should check your mainboard manual, unless you intend to keep at least one IDE drive, then you're alright.

You understand what he's said dont you comp king? Unless windows is already installed on the hard drive it may have problems detecting the hdd's if the bios doesn't support the converters.

I don't know CK I was just re-iterating jokos's point because you seemed to ignore it. I know nothing about how these converters work to be honest. Although I would like to know why you could IDE hdd's over SATA ones for your new computer.

Honestly your just making more trouble for youself. If you really wanted to use SATA cables why not just sell your existing hard drives on ebay or something and pick up nice big SATA drives?

Haven't you realized something yet? Most (if not all) of your problems posted on this forum have been a result of you not researching the products your buying properly. Threatening to kill some guy in a shop because you don't know what your doing is just silly.

I don't even know where to begin explaining this too you.

For the last time (apologies mods) STOP using ! in your posts. It's getting very old and highly annoying.

do you know I just stop to ask any Q or any thing ! I will work with me self better than get some words that make me feel like an dumb kid !

Thanks for every thing , bb

Ok fair enough, but the amount you've spent buy 4 adapter you'd be half way to the cost of a decent sata drive.

Anyway the point is your just not listening to the advice people are giving you. Threatening some shop assistant is just a step too far imo.

Maybe you sound like a dumb kid because you have no idea what people are suggesting? Honestly, you get decent advice in every single one of these pointless threads, and you never understand! Please start doing your own research instead of relying on this forum for every single question, and don't get frustrated when people have no idea what you're saying. The majority of users on here are native English speakers, so chances are if they can't understand you, the problem doesn't lie with them.
