This is the case I have.

This is the front of the case:

    Notice all the rust:

Notice the nice clean painted chasis now :D

    The nicely painted lid:

The front with a slight mod :p

Now I want some suggestions on what to do to this case. Mainly to the front but to the whole thing. I want the theme as Linux. I'll probably do a window and etch the linux penguin logo on it.

    But all ideas welcome

Make a vinyl adhesive of a rather bloated kernel loading, and put it on one of the sides ;) Could look rather sechsay.

Other than that, just put a whole bunch of Tux all around. Nobody doesn't like Tux :D

You could go subtle and use a theme of solid blue bells since AT&T owns the copyright to the parent operating system that led to Linux.

Or you could go with a clockwork gears theme.

I don't know which distro you're running, but I've been thinking that the Ubuntu logo (see it at the Ubuntu site's top left corner) would make a cool window, using translucent plexi for colour w/ the shape cut out of the metal.

If you want to run with this idea, go right ahead. I'm not sure I'll ever get around to doing it!

Like I said on the OCAU forums, use tux to base your bezel buttons and LEDs in :)

Yeah that sounds not too bad, I wouldn't mind sticking more to a universal linux theme though, rather than a particular distro. Its most likely to have debian, gentoo, slackware, or if i feel like being a wuss, fedora :p. But I'd rather have it the theme universal.

    Any more ideas?

    Do a Tux-shaped window? :D

    Some Tux pics

Make the window in the basic outline, and use a bit of etching on the arcylic to get the interior details?

I've also seen commercial Tux decals of various sorts, including vinyl window decals.

EDIT: I'm repeating what you wrote in the very first post of this thread. Nevermind... :wallbash:
