I want to mount my new VFD in the drive plate I cut for my dead LCD:

    LCD Mount

Problem is, I can't mount it the same way (hot glue round the screen).

This is because the VFD hasn't got a metal clip protecting the screen, so the glue would ooze through the contact legs from the Screen to the PCB. This would make future removal a pain or an imposibility without shagging the display.

I've tried expoxying some hex standoff's to the drive plate, but they're brittle (and where in the wrong place! ;) ) so you can't tighten the bolts.

    So - Any suggestions, Guys?

Oh - I forgot to mention that the VFD has the same dimensions as the old LCD (PCB, mounting holes etc).

That's exactly what I did, exept I used super-glue to stick the standoffs. Worked a treat.
