Basically I'm getting random re-boots and hard lockups of my PC... There seems to be no pattern to the resets, tho it does tend to happen during periods of network activity... (ie up/downloading, connecting to an online game etc)

Had 3 resets yesterday, 1 today so far, and the pc locked up, then was usuable for ~20 secs then the same....
Have dropped the FSB down to 166 to see if its related to that....
Only hardware thats been added is 2 fans and some EL wire... Both are running of molex splitters at the mo until I get extensions to run the fans off reobus.....
So any ideas as to the problem?
PSU was the initial thought as i noticed very slight squeeking on boot a week or so ago, lines seem fine tho. Temps aren't the problem, 25 case, 36 CPU. Another issue i thought was the OS... hasn't been re-installed for ~ 9months now, and since coming to uni the PC has been on for about 20 hours a day....

    thanks :D

You're running two different types of DIMM.. never a good idea.

    What's your PSU rated at?

    What are your RAM timings?

Did it still crash when not over-bussed?

PSU is 420w TT so no issues there, seems fine now at 166 fsb... Can play UT2004 demo without crashes as well... Loose a little mem bandwidth wise but apart from that its nice and stable....
Think the NIC has issues with FSB, anything over 170 and it seems to complain...
As for diffeent dimms, never had any issues before, in fact the samsung is "better" than the corsair, doin 220 fsb on 2.75v in an NF7-s

Hmm... still sounds like memory. The fact that one is "better" than the other is my whole point... that's not a good idea. You should really use one or the other (brand), especially when things get fast. Your RAM at 1:1?

It could be many things, but try running your rig overclocked again, but with one DIMM this time. If that cures it, then that's the problem. If not, try each DIMM in turn. If it only crashes with one of them, then there you go, you've found your problem.

Ok will give it a go sometime, ram is 1:1 crappy mobo doesnt have an option to run async.....
If i were running dual channel then i'd only use 1 stick of ram, but as these seem fairly (ish) well matched i didnt foresee it being an issue... Have had a stick of twinMos and 1 of sammy running dual channel in a NF7-s @ 220 fsb (2700 ram) no prbs before so didnt see it as an issue at the time, but i see your point....
