Got into work this morning, and in the tiger-barb tank was sitting this little coin. No idea what it says, or where it came from, but it is bugging the hell out of me. I am sure that it is some form of writing, but cannot figure out what language.

That's hebrew for sure, but it does not look like a shekel (Israeli currency), or any country's currency. Currency always has numeric value designation, right? This does not.

It could be a token of some kind.

Neat, but is it grammatically correct (in it's native language)?

I kind of had a feeling it wasn't a national currency, just doesn't feel right (it's light, and doesn't feel as dense as a normal coin would).

    A casino or something maybe?

Can't comment on how accurate it is, I can barely cope with 1 language, let alone learn another ;). It is as it is read backwards though as it was weird typing the characters and going from right to left.

As was pointed out, it doesn't have any numerical figures on it (that are obvious) so is more likely to be a token. Could be a casino if you're thinking glamorous, a car park if you're not.

    Maybe it's from an arcade?

If "redemption score" is an accurate translation, a casino token seems fairly likely.

It looks like your fairly standard arcade-type token to me. Probably an Aluminium-Nickel alloy.

    I see a consensus.

I'm sure I can identify it for you. I'm fairly certain it's worthless. Post it to me and then I'll send you the results from my boat parked outside my new apartment in Monte Carlo in a couple of weeks.

Well I think it's from the future. A distant future where time travel has been perfected. In this future the Israelis eventually figured out their nuclear technology, and promptly used it against the world and took control (turns out Bush was right, go figure). Not satisfied with taking over the world they also turned Canada into a GIANT CASINO.

Either that or it's a credit token from a casino in downtown Jerusalem.

That was my first thought when I saw it.
