Why is it that in the past and even now, when I decide to try the upgraded IE, that it just doesn't work, leaving me to have to revert to the previous version of IE?

I tried IE 7 and nothing worked, nothing at all, so had to revert to IE6.

Not only that, but there is something wrong with my browser, it keeps locking up and coming up with an error saying the operation has to be aborted. If I click ok, then reload a few times, I'll get a page up.

    Otherwise, the computer works fine.

It'd be nice if you explained what you meant by "doesn't work"

Basically, if you took a perfectly working IE, pretty much the reverse of that.

I've moved onto Firefox, it's rather quick actually.

So you're one of the horribly large percentage of people still using IE6 (or at least were). You cause developers great pain :p It was released in 2001, let it die!

You still didn't answer the question.

PS, you will find pretty much everyone on this forum uses either Firefox or Opera, and are well aware of the merits.

I tried to let it die, but every new version attempt just would not work.

I did answer the question. I couldn't answer the question in anymore detail. When IE 7 was opened, it did nothing, would not load a page, nothing.

Like it stayed on a white background? Did it load the menus? Were the menus responsive? Could you write an address and press enter? Could you go to internet settings?

    Have you tried IE8?
