This is both funny and sad
It is a good observation with the tutorial pop ups. They annoy the hell out of me. I think one of the culprits for the lack of "twitch" shooting is everything is going for realism and everyone has to aim down the sights.
If quake was made today it would probably have the same game mechanics as every other FPS around now. It is a shame as it has been a long time since I even gave any thought to Quake.
I think Doom 2 had almost passed me by when I got a PC, but was totally blown away by this game, against my mate via a 36k modem! Anyone here ever used to use BT's Wireplay gaming service? Way ahead of its time really.
Wireplay, well doom/quake and wireplay - cost me a fair bit back in those days of pay per min!!
Good times tho
hehe loved quake 2.. the multiplayer duals and even team osp mod.. heck rocket arena too still can't beat it
Wireplay...back then my alias was PrayingMantis
That was until I found out there was a professional player by the same name. MAde him look like a right novice
I put A LOT of hours into the original quake was top notch for the time.
Certainly do miss the fast pace which isn't really in many games theses days.
I long for another twitch shooter even ut3 seemed a bit slow when compared with past versions.
And this video is missing going into third person when in cover.
and missing xbox controls *glares at metro*
but i did lol my face off
i saw this at Kotaku yesterday! funny as hell.
the huge ass reticle cracks me up the whole gameplay.
LOL that is brilliant, Love the quote at the end, Great movement too. Quake2 best Multiplayer game ever made, I failed my exams because of that game.
All that's missing is a quicktime event with 360-button icons in the PC version.
PRESS Y TO NOT DIE!
Just needs the above, a brown tint to everything, and some strawberry jam effects when you get hit!
Sad and funny, but true .
It still makes me feel nostalgic, i'm going to make a rig just for all my old games.
I did just that.
