As the title suggests, I am trying to find out who is using 32-bit or 64-bit Vista, the version (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate isn't an issue here, although feel free to say if you want to).
32-bit Home Premium (Academic Upgrade version, bargain). Couldn't be bothered paying extra and then waiting for for a 64-bit DVD, and my wireless card doesn't have Vista drivers so I'm using the XP ones. Can't do that on 64-bit.
64 bit, and its never crashed, and the only serious issue i had was the Nvidia TDR timeout issue. some incomoatability at first, but most things are compatable now
32-bit. Waiting for a working 64bit version of itunes and the need for more than 3GB's of ram. 64-Bit is the future, and I'm sure most Vista user's will be using it in a couple of years time.
For right now I would stick with 32-bit. Unfortunately most manufacturers still have to focus on the masses and most people aren't up to par on 64-bit. 99% of software isn't written for 64-bit, though you can still run 32-bit apps, there isn't much benefit. You'll get better support using 32-bit right now. I've got Vista Ultimate 32-bit.
32-bit for the moment since there are no (and no plans) 64-bit drivers for my tv card. Wanting to go 64-bit ASAP but can't obviously.
I'm quite lucky that my Nova-T 500 is supported on 64-bit actually. It is interesting so far to see there is a group that want to use 64-bit but cannot due to frequently used hardware not being supported.
I'm using Ultimate 32-bit ATM, but next clean install, I'll go to 64-bit. Driver support should be much better by then, and I'll be able to add more RAM.
32-bit at the moment, but when games start pushing past 2GB (SupCom does) more regularly, I'll move to 64-bit.
32bit but only because of driver support and fewer headaches. However, 64 is the future and I'm actually disappointed that MS didn't force the issue and make Vista 64bit only. (though I must say I'm not that impressed by Vista so far - but then XP was the same at first too).
32bit [Home Premium], simply 'coz I don't trust the 64bit version (which I've got) to support all my hardware and games at this early stage. I'm gonna wait until Vista SP1 is released, before I try 64bit
64bit, the only Issues I've had are with BattleField 2142. which is fair enough as its not supported. Home Premium
Both 32bit and 64bit Ultimate versions. Trying out the 32bit version for a media centre PC but having a number of problems with Vista and HDCP and Video Codecs. Think I will drop back to XP for Media Centre. I use the 64bit version on my main PC and very happy with that, expect soe of my games will not play, so also using XP 32bit for those.
I've got 32-bit working with MC no problems so far, and it seems to be playing all the xp video codecs I've got, which I am surprised and relieved about lol What problems with your video files have you come across? I have not tried anything HD yet.....I haven't got an HDMI connection, only DVI.For that matter I haven't got an HD receiver either.
64-bit for the world! (64-bit Vista Business UK OEM edition) I've used Vista for about two years now, was part of the testing right from the beginning, so I've tried a lot of different errors n crashes in Vista... But still, think this is the best OS Microsoft have made I've ever used.
