Along with Bit-tech, I belong to a forum named Sirius Backstage which deals with satellite radio. About 3 months ago, they ran a promotion with a contest and I won! My prizes came today:

It's digital radio via satellite with no commercials called Sirius. I can turn it on a specific station and drive cross country without having to find a new one. Fantastic service and highly reccommended for people in the US.

    From the website:
At SIRIUS, we make satellite radio. And we do it right. That means 65 channels of music. And no commercials. None. Zilch. Zip. Zero. Plus we give you more than 50 channels of great sports, news and entertainment programming, much of it exclusive to SIRIUS.

It all starts at our studios in NYC's Rockefeller Center. On any given day as musicians stop by for live interviews and performances, our on-air hosts are hard at work taking satellite radio to the next level. The passion, the dedication, and the love of music contained in these walls are enough to change the way the world listens to music. Which is pretty much what we've set out to do.

And we're doing it with satellites. Every second of the day, SIRIUS is shooting over 120 channels of amazing radio straight into the heavens to our three state-of-the-art satellites that rotate in figure eight, geo-synchronous orbits around the earth.

So every SIRIUS channel of satellite radio, over 120 of them, is available throughout the continental US with crisp digital-quality sound all down the line. You just can't find radio like this on any other dial.

    Yay for you

I'd imagine coast-to-coast ad free radio is an absolute god send in the states! So much of the radio is utter crap.

I agree. Damn ClearChannel crap.. I've been a subscriber for almost a year now and let me tell you, I never listen to FM, cd's or much of my mp3 collection anymore. It's well worth the $12.95/month sub price and would honestly drop satellite tv before I dropped this.

Well done, chap... nice prizes :>

I've only won one competition before. That was when Freeloader.com first launched. Mentioned that I'm related to Shane Richie in the Tie-breaker and won first prize :D

Congrats!! I've been thinking about subscribing also - getting really, really tired of the single "rock" station they have here.

Yup. I actually tried XM and didn't care for the playlists. Plus I like the Sirius price structure - $12.95 for everything, no premium content, no extra fees. In addition, Sirius has a TON more sports since they now simulcast ALL the NFL games.
