After a little bit of time away from the computer, I have finaly been able to wrestle my way back on this slab of superb silicon machienery. I am very happy now because..... I just bought my first ever car all of my own. a 1992 Dodge shadow. It looks very much like this guys. Now all I have to do is learn how to drive stick again. Not doing too bad so far. Mines got a sony deck and alpine 5 1/2" s in the front, Need some 6 x 9 's for the back an amp and a sub, but that will have to wait for the end of the summer. . Finished my frist ever set of three consecutive 12 hour night shifts. I am quite bagged, and Am now going to bed. Sweet dreams everybody.
Welcome back d00000000d Time to maxpower mod ya car then Phat Exhaust Quad Turbo 18" Alloys Lowered Front side rear skits Neon light under the chassis and last but no means least, a windscreen (windshield I think u guys call it) sunshade stick sporting the words "Digitalblueshift.............Girlfriend" ophs u drive on the right "Girlfrind.............Digitalblueshift" then
No offense, but its a Dodge Shadow, why repaint it? I guess if you really like it and want to keep it a long time. I don't think I've met anyone whose dream car was the Shadow though. I'd save the paint job cash towards a different car (if their is one you'd rather have) or something else. Noone is going to look at it and say, wow now that the Shadow is x color, its sweet . I've got a 92 honda civic (bought new) that is "tahitian green" which is a blue-green. Take the pictured shadow and add some green, thats close enough. I wouldn't waste your money to paint it Oh, and welcome back.
If it is cheap I will go the same color again. Im puttin in a pair of 5x7 alpines, to match the 5 1/2's in the front, in the back deck and an amp and pioneer sub or mabye two in the trunk, $400 ==>$500. Will I get good bass inside if I put the sub in the trunk, Or will I have to port the box into the passenger compartment? I will probably bolt the box to the back of the seat anyways All told about $600 for the essentials to sterioize the car. No suping up sorry, Insurance is already high enough, and my pockets are empty. No decals, Im only going to put a ram decal on teh hood and thats it. edited for content, I must learn to think before I speak.
digital have your avatar made into a case badge and put it on your dashboard and you will be all set.
Sounds like you are adding more $$$ into the sound system then the low resale price on the car... But I can't say anything bad about them little cars...they are just that...good little cars, bought a brand new one in '88, put 120K miles on her, then two weeks after i made the last payment my ex-wife rolled and totalled her!! (<-SERIOUSLY!)
Ouch, Anyways, nice truck. i want a decent sterio, cant stand the factory speakers. My friend is selling 3 400W sony 10" I might be able to get them, and make up a bandpass box. I cant fault it. It runs real good, hits 160 km/h halfway through 5th, and gets to 100 pretty zippy too. I can squeal the tires in second and its only a 2.2L. Its either a really good car, or I still cant drive stick after two days.
big engine show off over here in england most cheap cars (fiestas etc) are runngin 1 litre engines but i know you can tyrespin one of them right through to third gear if done properly (or my mate can should i say) & hit 90miles an hour (only wish we paid the same for pertol as you guys, we pay throo the nose but that dont bother me on my little 50cc scooter) but then agian my mothers driving a 1.9turbo diesel purgeot & that is fast as hell whats this stick shift stuff? everyone over her knows how to drive manual gearbox cars dont they (manual gearbox = stick shift transmission), jsut curious as automatic are farely rare over here ( a heck of a lot more manual that auto [that & more power is lost in auto gearboxes than manual])
ported subs have better bass the longer and deeper the por the more bass u get so if u port them into the back seat the bass will go through the car
i prefer running subs in sealed enclosures as they have better control & can react tot he music quicker, jsut my 2 pennys on i would not worry about not hearing it, if you put a half decent sub in your boot you WILL hear it
welcome back shifty! I think for this moment we need a nice little quote with little or no meaning: Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and goodwill, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brothers keeper, and I will strike down with great vengeance and furious anger, those, who try to poisen and destroy my brother. And you will know, my name is the law, when I lay my vengeance upon thee!
i never doubted you mate, im jsut saying that for what i listen to i prefer sealed boxes or boxes with 1 active & 1 passive driver as i feel due to the loss of pressure behind the cone they can react a littel bit quicker but each to there own
talking to me? cos if youare all i said was that is how i prefer listening some people prefer there isntalls wired up one way & others prefer them wired up anohther way, heck i know someone who ash one of his subs wired up + to - and - to +, its all about how it soudns to you, if you spend the money, set it up how you like
I was reading the specs for the enclosure ont he pioneer subs, Im going to make one enclosed and one ported. Is that a bandpass box? Will that give me a sharp response and booming bass when needed? Il put it right at the back of the boot, well hidden under the trunk lid and by the stupid little wooden piece used as a back deck. Automatics are much more popular here, atleast all of teh cars I have driven are automatics with the exception of one. A mazda pickup, I drove it with a warped clutch and pressureplate for an hour nearly three years ago, so I was wayyy out of practice. I Am much better now, although I need to practice downshifting.
easiest way to practice geas is to find a car park & thrash the car around making sure you get a lot of speed changes so you have to change a lot (you can tell im from the cruse generation, turn install up, drop the cluch for a burn out while soem gorgeous lass drapes herself over your person as you watch the rev counter increase [god i need a car])
