Had one HELL of a good time at the lake - the weather was mostly nice. Saturday: Sunny & warm Sunday: Warm, but overcast Monday: Warm, light rain, but still went out on the boat Tuesday: Rain, rain, rain.. It's all good though. My brother, sister-in-law and I went up the east side of the lake to all the wineries doin a little wine tasting Wednesday: HOT, overcast Thursday: Sun, hot, humid Friday: Some sun, hot, humid Saturday: Off and on sun, not as hot Sunday: Sunny, hot, came home :/ Never got the chance to go into Watkins Glen to go to the gorge or the race track, but that's okay. I took TONS, I mean nearly 200 pictures so as soon as I sort through them all, I'll post some of the select ones
Was pretty good - did the "birthday thing" on Saturday instead of Sunday as I was with everyone then and still at the lake. Not too much, just the typical cake & ice cream stick.. THIS weekend is the goin' out and getting bombed b'day weekend
Okay, here are a couple of snaps that I've sorted which I think you may like... Lookin North/West up the lake on Monday night: My 2nd cousin. She REALLY liked my chicken Thi Tiki Bar - A place we found while trolling the west side of the lake Thursday. Sunset on Wednesday night:
Palm trees in New York? I assume they're fake....or you gave us false information just incase we decided to follow you.
Those palm trees look like they are made from wood or something. Still, I've seen palm trees in NY, but I bet they're not outside in the winter... Nice pics, dad. I really liked the last (sunset) one.
Hahahaha!! Yea, they are fake. They are pretty cool, an excellent beacon to follow on a dark lake to get there too The "trunks" were all glowey and the lights that lit the "palms" moved like a movie marquee. HEY! They were modded trees complete with internal lighting and moving lights!
the first pic looks so cool. but the last one seems pretty computer made. the stuff in the foreground says that its an actuall photo. but the background bit looks like something my friend made in bryce. still looks cool never the less
Actually, the last one is the only pic that I was messing around with the camera settings. I took the same shot with "normal" settings and it was all washed out, so I bumped the brightness setting down and took that one. When I took the pic, I wanted it to have more detail in the sky and less detail in the foreground - Kind of like the trees and docks were acting like a frame for the sky and lake. Know what I mean? This is the "normal" setting. It was taken like just a few seconds before the darker one:
Damn straight paper plates! That day there was about 20 or so people up and I wasn't about to do dishes for that many people! Besides, those be the expensive Chinet plates
