Not thought about Dunlop SP9000? I checked and they come in your size.

Yep - I was just looking at those earlier. Similar tread pattern. Not to expensive either. Does anyone have any experience of them? How do they hold up against the F1's?

they tend to be a bit noisy, but wet/dry traction is pretty high, forget about driving in the snow (that's common with a higher performance summer tire)

i had those before i got my toyo's.... pretty much equivalent to the toyos... never had the eagles

I very much doubt the car will ever see snow, so that shouldn't be an issue. As for noise - well, it's an open top car with side pipes. How much more noisy could it get? :D

Do you actually want that size though? You could go for bigger/smaller sidewalls and/or wider/narrower tread width.

After looking at this pic, I'd say a lower profile would look better, say a 195/45/15 tyre. (7.5 inches is 190mm, so they'd fit).

Also, one of our local tyre/exhaust fitters ordered me in my F1's for £1 per tyre more than the cheapest I could find them online, so there's that option aswell.

Well, it's definitly an idea... I was going for the Beemer 'stock' size so it doesn't mess up the gearing and speedo - but TBH, it doesn't really matter that much.

As for that pic, I believe that's the Purple M3 powered monster. If so, I think it's on 17" rims.

Hurray for GOO :D How quickly do you expect will things start to come together once you have all that kit? Is it mostly bolting things together or is there a fair bit of work to do on the parts?

It should be mostly bolting things together... But you know how these things are. I'm sure there will a bit of persuasion neccessary - some of the other guys on the kit car forum I go to have had some issues with the rear suspension seats not lining up. Having said that, the Marlin site now states that the spring seats are adjustable, so maybe it won't be an issue.

It will, however, not be quick enough for you guys, I'm sure... This is only stage 1 of the kit (all I could afford at the mo, and all I can reasonably accomodate in the garage for the time being). There's another 2 and a bit stages to get before I can say it's finished and ready for SVA.

Well - to be on the safe side, I did ask (I didn't fancy wearing my bollocks for a necklace ;)) and she said it was OK ( I guess she knows that they're clean and there not going to dirty anything up.

Quick update on delivery times - the big day is now Tuesday, 5th Dec. It's being delivered (Incredibly, it works out cheaper to pay to have it delivered than van hire plus diesel costs). Don't wory - I will have a camera on hand to record this milestone! :D
