[mutters to himself that the car would look better in red...]
I've covered the centre console - I'm pretty damn chuffed at how it's turned out, especially as I've never attempted anything like this before:
Wow, that looks like seriously nice work. No wonder it took you ages!
Nah - it didn't take ages. I'm just slowing it down to annoy you.
That looks awesome
It doesn't annoy, it makes me sad.
Oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh that's really nice.
You'll like this then. I loved the smell of contact adhesive so much I did the dash tonight.
That looks incredible. Great Job.
This. What a great job GOO, absolutely fantastic.
Hot damn GOO!
Goddamn that looks sexy.
Best. Mod. EVAH!
Looks absolutely bloody brilliant, GOO!
I need to do the boot panels next, which should be more straight forward than the dash and cosole (not so many complicated bends and cut outs to accomodate)
Schweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet, excellent work
Sweet work - the dash switch panel looks exactly the BMW Mini one with the chrome toggles and the bars. Nicely done!
Well, that's all the upholstery done!
Like the dash and the console, all the boot closure panels got 2 layers of 3mm self adhesive foam before being wrapped in leather cloth. I got the foam from Woolies, and it's great stuff. So easy to work with.
Gives the panels a nice padded feeling.
I need to take the hatch jambs and lock plate off again and paint them with some chassis paint yet. You can see that they're still raw ali in the pics.
The panels got a 6mm black piping bead to finish them off:
I've got some extra to go around the inside of the wooden dash capping later on.
I've also stuck some of the carpet I'm using on the inside of the boot hatch door, to make it look nice and neat:
Next stop - taking at all out again now I know it all still fits, so I can get the rear tub off and do the seatbelt bar and boot matting. Happy days!
Looking really good now mate, excellent work
